Hanna Flat Campground

Hanna Flat Campground is located in the San Bernardino Forest about 100 miles east of Los Angeles and 3 miles from Big Bear Lake.  Due to the recent fires, the last patch of road (approximately 2.5 miles) along Forest Road 3N14 is unpaved and can be a bit bumpy.

It’s a decent sized campground consisting of 85 sites with 67 sites available only via Recreation.gov and 18 sites via first come/first serve. So in other words, if you don’t reserve ahead of time, chances are you won’t be able to camp here. Also use Campsite Photos to see what your campsite looks like prior to making the reservation because some sites had plenty of shade while others had none.

Being in a secluded part of the forest means no cellphone reception, no showers, and no flushable toilets for the humans. That just means more attention for your four-legged children! Firewood is sold in bundles for $7 and each site has a picnic table and fire ring.
